What is Qigong?
In a human body, there are five solid organs and six hollow organs. The human body has four limbs and hundreds of bones. Internally, the human body contains the essence and spirit. Muscles and bones constitute the external body, and the internal organs, tendons, and bones constitute the major parts.
Externally the tendons, bones, and muscles constitute the major parts. Internally, the muscles, blood, and veins constitute the major parts. Throughout the body, “qi” constitutes the major parts. Therefore, the practice of Qigong aims to cultivate both qi and blood. For people to nourish their lives, they must nurture their qi. Those who cultivate qi can enjoy longevity.
To condition one’s qi is to follow the flow. For those who know the art of ingesting qi, they collect qi. For those who hold their breath, they keep qi inside.
All of these are ways to cultivate qi.
What is Shaolin Qigong?
Understanding Lifestyle Principles
Qigong is the essence of physical exercise that has been practiced and improved by the monks of Shaolin over the past 1,500 years.
It emphasizes the integration of the human mind-body and nature. By focusing on the flow of energy in the body’s meridians through body movements and breathing, the Life Nourishing Qigong helps people cultivate their minds and bodies, optimize the five internal organs, stretch the muscles and bone, and achieve healthy physical conditions. It also soothes mind-body fatigue and helps people stay healthy and keep diseases from developing.
If people desire a long life, they need to prevent themselves from getting sick by breathing properly (intentionally inhaling and exhaling qi). To inhale and exhale qi explicitly is to cultivate one’s personality first. It is essential for a person to nurture one’s mind to be able to cultivate one’s personality.
